John “Hans” Wilbert
Wall of Fame 2015 Builder

John, was an active leader within the province of Prince Edward Island since 1974 and has served continuously on the executive for JUDOPEI in some facet and has performed the role of grading chairperson, provincial coach, coaching facilitator and when necessary referee chairperson.    John was inducted into the Canada Games Hall of Fame in 2009 as a builder and then again this past fall (2015) into the SPORTPEI Hall of Fame.

Judo on Prince Edward Island quite simply would not have been as successful without his assistance or guidance, not only members of his own club (RIKIDOKAN) but other members across PEI owe much of their past, present and future success to Johns dedication and instilling the love of the sport.
